Where is my site actually hosted?
Your site runs on our managed platform, with a global edge network and DNS, caching and DDoS protection in front. That means fast page loads from anywhere in Australia, automatic HTTPS, and infrastructure-grade uptime, not a server in someone's garage.
How is this different from cPanel or shared hosting?
Shared hosting gives you a server and a control panel, and the operational work is still yours to do. Tier 1 Keep my site running is the opposite: we take on the operational responsibility. Security patches, SSL renewals, backups and domain management become our job, not yours. You are paying for a partner who keeps it all running, not just for the box it runs on.
Do you migrate my existing site?
Yes. Moving onto our managed platform is a paid Foundation pathway, priced separately from your monthly plan. A Transfer (from $490) is a like-for-like move of your existing site (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, static HTML, whatever) onto our managed platform, with DNS, SSL and verification handled, typically 2 to 5 business days with no downtime. What's included in 'monthly content updates'?
Tier 1 Keep my site running covers the technical side, not human content updates. It includes 1 named content editor so your team can safely make their own changes. Defined monthly content update hours, done for you, are included from Tier 3 Run the whole digital side for me. Bigger structural projects are always quoted separately before we start.
Do I own my domain?
Yes, always. We manage the domain on your behalf through our managed platform, but the registration stays in your name. If you ever leave us, the domain transfers back with no friction and no fees.
What happens if my site goes down?
We're notified before you are. Our uptime monitoring checks your site every minute, public dashboard at status.nightshiftlane.com/status/public. If something breaks, we investigate immediately, typically resolved within an hour for infrastructure issues. You get a post-incident note explaining what happened.
Is there a contract?
No. Month-to-month, 30 days notice to leave. We hand over everything (domain, code, content, credentials, database) so any developer can pick up where we left off.
Can I add the AI Visibility add-on?
Yes. AI Visibility ($99/mo) works with any plan. It is also built into Tier 2 Help customers find me and stop losing leads, which includes AI Visibility foundations and ongoing tracking. AI Visibility makes it easier for search engines and AI answer tools to understand what your business does, where you operate and how customers can contact you.
