Where is my site actually hosted?
Your site runs on Vercel's global edge network with Cloudflare in front for DNS, caching, and DDoS protection. That means fast page loads from anywhere in Australia (Sydney edge node), automatic HTTPS, and infrastructure-grade uptime — not a server in someone's garage.
How is this different from cPanel or shared hosting?
Traditional shared hosting ($10-20/mo) gives you a server and a control panel — you do everything else. Caretaker ($149/mo) is the opposite: we own the operational responsibility. Security patches, SSL renewals, backups, plugin updates, broken-link fixes, content changes — those become our job, not yours. The cost difference is the time you stop spending.
Do you migrate my existing site?
Yes — included in the first month. We move your existing site (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, static HTML, whatever) onto our managed infrastructure, set up DNS via Cloudflare, install SSL, and verify everything works. Typical migration takes 2-5 business days with no downtime.
What's included in 'monthly content updates'?
Up to 2 hours per month of content edits — text changes, image swaps, new blog posts, updated trading hours, menu changes, new staff bios, that sort of thing. Bigger projects (new sections, redesigns, e-commerce additions) are quoted separately or covered by Conductor.
Do I own my domain?
Yes, always. We manage the domain on your behalf via Cloudflare, but the registration stays in your name. If you ever leave us, the domain transfers back with no friction and no fees.
What happens if my site goes down?
We're notified before you are. Our uptime monitoring (Uptime Kuma at status.nightshiftlane.com) checks your site every minute. If something breaks, we investigate immediately — typically resolved within an hour for infrastructure issues. You get a post-incident note explaining what happened.
Is there a contract?
No. Month-to-month, 30 days notice to leave. We hand over everything (domain, code, content, credentials, database) so any developer can pick up where we left off.
Can I add the AI Visibility bolt-on to Caretaker?
